i dont know an easy way to peel off stickers, as for the glue shit they leave behind, rub in some goo gone and let it sit for like 20 minutes then it should rub off pretty easy.

for deep gouges get flexible repair putty made for plastic or ABS, fill in gouges and sand that down with 40 grit and keep movin up the grits to about 340.  sand the whole peice with 300-340 to make sure primer sticks.

IF you have plastic showing you NEED to spray plastic adhesive stuff first before you primer... cuz primer doesnt stick well to bare ABS.

as for the artsy stuff you want to do... camo? have fun, i dont know how to air brush that well lol.  Go to your local autobody repair/paint shop and tell them you are painting your bike.  they should be able to help you out with any extra questions.

I just went through the process of striping down some farings for painting. At first I tried using a blowdryer for removing the decals, but it took to long, so I applied some paint stripper on them, and 10 minutes later they peeled off like tape.    hope this helps out some

well paint stripper might take off all the paint and put you back down to bare plastic.  so like i said, if that happens u NEED to buy plastic adhesive stuff so that your primer will stick nice.   you CANT spray primer over bare plastic.
