Has anybody put spools on the swingarm of their 2002? I almost can't believe they left out a place for them. If you did it, how and where?
I was thinking of putting some on, but not too keen on drilling and tapping the swingarm.
Even my '02 SV650S has them.

What part of SoCal are you from? If your in the San Diego area, try Lees Cycle or visit them at www.leescycle.com, they can put some spools on without tapping into the swingarm. Cool man. I am in LA. I could easily take a trip down, my brother lives there. What would they do, weld them on?

No, I believe they would weld on some kind small alluminum blocks for them to tap and screw the swing arm spools into.

DO NOT drill a hole in your swingarm. Get the CBR kit that comes with the necessary hardware to have spools welded on the underside of the swingarm preferably an inch or two out of the way of the axle for maintenance purposes.

I had a set of spools put on my 2000 F4 all they did was cut a set out of some aluminum rod and weld them on
Ok, thanks to all of you! Well, I think the way I'll fix it now is with a 600RR.
In anycase, what I did earlier was shove a threaded rod through the rear axle and put the "ears" on the ends. Not super pretty or anything, but works great...
