I want your advice if i should get the cbrF4 as a first bike or get some other bike. Also your input about other honda bikes would be nice too, like the VTR1000 etc. thanks

my first bike was an F4 and I did fine, but there is a good chance that you will drop it.
My buddy dropped his (2000 F4) the first time we went on a long ride. We were parking for breakfast and he turned it with hardly any speed and it fell right over. Just some cosmetic damage, but he was pretty shitty for about a week.
if you want nothing but an F4, then get one, and be as careful as you can. If you can live with something else for a little while, get an F2 or F3 for low $$ and learn on it.
just my 2 cents.

I agree with Ryan.
Don't even consider the twin. Get an old bike first. Dump it and laugh about it..........and then pick it up and keep riding without a second thought.
I've been riding for about 11 years and have never even come close to dumping a bike. But just about a month ago I'm meeting these guys that I've never riddin with before at this dudes house. I almost speed right by it but see it at the last second; so I try and turn and stop on a dime at the same time. Not a good combo.....
I kept it up, barely, but felt like a dumbass in front of some dudes I'm about to go riding with. I've got 11 years of experience and made a completley newbie/dumb mistake.
So get an old bike and just have fun learning..........

You should do what I did. Get a Suzuki Savage LS 650 Single Cylinder as your first bike-- HAHA
J/k dont get one of them, they suck.
Acutally I guess I should point out the good side to having a small cruiser before I just rag and run. They're a lot easier to manuver and when you drop them -- yay for handle bars and pegs that stick out farther than the whole bike, vs. sport bikes where the fairing is asking to be cracked if you drop it. I would say that that is the only plus side (and the excitement of feeling that your bike is about to explode at about 80mph)
good luck. Don't forget your gear! I've been so many idiots around here lately (I live in San Diego, its been about 70-80 degrees lately) wearing sneakers, t-shirts and shorts on bikes. At least get a good helmet jacket and pair of gloves. The one time you dont wear, you'll wish you had (murphies law or something like that).
Ride safe! (and fast when you really really have to! -- not to be read in conjunction with the 'run from the cops' post -- lol)

Personally, I think about the worst first bike you can get is any sportbike. The best is a dirst bike or dual sport. They do much more to teach you the fundamentals. You learn more about traction from sliding around in the dirt for a day than a whole life of street riding will teach you. But, if you're bound and determined to get a sportbike first, then an F4 is as good as most. I think a 600 is a bit big for a first bike, but you didn't listen about the dirt bike, so why would you believe me about the size? <g> Understand one thing. You are going to drop it. You just are. Maybe not while riding, maybe while moving it around your driveway, or sitting at a light. Being around a bike requires a set of skills you're not born with. And tip overs happen because you don't yet know what causes them or how to avoid them. I know you're thinking "I'll be careful." Great. You'll still drop it. If you must have a sport bike first, and it must be a 600, at least make sure it's a cheap one you won't mind replacing some parts on. As for the VTR100 Superhawk, it's a great bike, very underrated. Comfy, fast, good looking. Excellent bike. But it would be a worse bike than an F4 to start on. The big torque of the V-twin would get a newbie in trouble quick. If you want to become a better rider, spend your first summer on a dual sport. If you can't stand the thought, then get what you want, but one day, you'll get on a dirt bike and you'll wonder how you've been riding so long without one.
