do i need a new chain?

if i drop a tooth on the front sprocket and raise one or two on the rear will i need a knew chain? i have a 2000 F4 with about 9000 miles on it.

I think you should be fine.  I was able to go up a tooth in the back and not need a bigger chain.  Since you are also dropping one in the front, I would think everything should be fine.
