I just gots my first bike. It a F2 93 black, silver, red. In great shape but still got the stock exhaust on it. Whatz the best exhaust to get for F2. I want more hp out of it. Also what is the biggest rear tire I can put on. Do you guyz think a 180 will fit?

a 180 rear tire will do nothing but cost you more and ruin your handling.

The bike was designed around a smaller tire, and wedging a fat one back there will have you turning like crap.  Don't waste your money...

Don't care much about handling. I figured a wider tire would be stable when I trying to do wheelies. Plus it would look cool. What about exhaust do they have the big ones for bikes like I see on civics all the time.

lol joe Grin

would you rather your bike look cool?  or would you rather kill yourself when you decide to start going fast on your bike and take a corner that you cant handle cuz you put the wrong tire on?  easy desicion if you ask me.

Of course I want bike to look cool doesn't everyone. I won't kill myself going fast I more want to do stuntz like I see others do. But noone still has explain why wider tire makes bike handle bad. I ask question cause I hang alot in car scene and just learning about bikes. I want some help but people here see to have bad attitude.

Where do you people come from.  I'd be hapy to explain why a bigger tire will ruin your handling, (and make wheelies HARDER) but will I be wasteing my time? Will you take my advice, and think about it, or will you just forget it becasue it isn't what you want to hear? I'm pretty sure you're trolling, probably a member of the list who's bored because it's down. But, I'm bored, so I'll explain it to you.  The best exhaust is the stock exhaust. Period. If you want another, get one, but hp isn't changed much unless you jet, and know exactly what you're doing. 90% of the bikes you see with pipes run worse. And those that do make more power make it way up high in the rpm range, where you don't need it, especially for "stuntaz" or whatever you called wheelies. Now for the tire thing. Lets say you have a wheel made for a 160 tire. Now look at a wheel made for a 190 tire.  Wider right? Ok, now imagine a tire off the wheel. Imagine it's a 190.  The beads are spaced apart the proper distance to fit on the wheel it's designed for.  Now, pinch the beads together as you would to mount it on a to narrow wheel. You're squishing it, and the tread is bulging. You're getting LESS contact with the road. Make sense? So you lose stability. It also handles worse because you have a wider tire to roll over into a turn. And it's heavier, so you have more rotational mass and unsprung weight, reducing power. And, BTW, I don;t think anything wider than a 170 will fit on an F2, which is about the worse thing in the world for stunting due to it's having a oil pick-up mounted towards the front of the engine. If you ever do get good at wheelies, you'll be starving the motor for oil.

Ok, I see now.  You're right, you can't f' yourself up doing stunts (sorry - stuntZ).

Seriously, it probably wouldn't fit in your swingarm, although I'm not positve.  You're rim wasn't designed for a 180 which means it isn't wide enough.  Putting a 180 on will make the profile of the tire all screwy.  Put a stock size tire on it.

Well i don't know you so i'm gonna try not to be a dink when i say this......in my opinion you bought a bike for the wrong reason. period.  YES some poeple drag race their bikes.  YES some poeple just beat the snot out of their bikes.  Personally i do think stunting is cool in moderation, but you seem like a loose cannon.  You just bought a really powerful (first) bike (and nobody better say something stupid like an f2 isn't powerful stock (kiss my ass it isn't)) and already you want more power.  WHy? not because you've necesarily gotten good at riding, but because you want to stunt like nuts.  Hey that's okay if you want to do that, but i think it's fucking hilarious guys that can ride a wheelie for 6miles or pull endos but couldnt ride a curvy complex road faster than a moped.  You really are missing the best part of a motorcycle if you think that handling is not important.  I've heard of people wanting bigger tires and it's all wrong....but hondatech already explained it much better than i could.
If you're wondering why people on this forum seem a little bit hostile it's because people like you scare us.  We imagine you as being the type of motorcyclist that will be itching to see "biker boys" the first friday night it comes out so that saturday morning you'll be at the dealership, pulling out trying your first stunt you saw in the movie.  I personally just can't comprehend it.  People that are new to bikes and just want to stunt have the tendency to get mangled.......and people getting mangled results in higher insurance rates for those of us who love bikes and who want to continue to ride them to some degree of responsability for the rest of our lives.
Sorry to preach......you're free to do what you want and i encourage you to do so.....just don't act like a twelve year old....bikes are obviously a lot more powerful than you take them for.  In case you're wondering, i'm not some 50 year old who rides slow.  I'm 19 and i treat my bike with respect because i'm not a fan of dying and i, it seems unlike you, realize that learning to ride a bike is a LEARNING experience.
Bottom line: learn to ride well and the stunting will come with time and confidence.  And leave your f'n tire alone.  Honda spends millions in engineering for a reason.

ps.  welcome to the forum Kiss

yeah,  im behind ryan on that one.  you gotta treat your bike with respect.  it IS powerfull,  especially for a first bike.  i would know.  my F2 is my first bike ever,  never even rode a dirt bike.  i spent the first hour on my bike with the engine off just getting used to the weight of it,  then the next 2 days going no further than around the block.  yeah i sound like a goof for doing that, but wanting to just jump on a 600 and do stunts is suicidal.

hondatech that is good description of why wider is not better I understand. I not trying stuntz right now I just trying to learn to ride and ask question. I dont understand word 'troll' is this a motorcycle word? I did very good on ride last night, but then I drop the bike. Small scrapes but no damage problem is bike does not run now. It turns when I try start it but does not run. I cant take it back to dealer no trailer and to far to push. And I dont like mechanic at dealer you know how they are. Can you guyz help me?
