I got another question for all you folks. Again, only had my bike fow a few days. When I bought it it came with a "sort of" hole the size of a quarter in the right side plastic. I say "sort of" because the piece that's broken is being held in place by that black cushiony stuff on the interior of the plastics. It just looks like something tried to poke right through it. The "even dumber than I am when it comes to sport bikes" lady I bought the bike from at the dealership said that this can be fixed. Is this true? I would've just replaced the whole piece with a new one; but I can't get one pre-painted can I? And how good can it possibly look if it's just repaired and not replaced? Probably better than it looks now I guess.......... HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well from my experience with the plastic welder is very good. They can weld a new piece in to replace the piece missing. Then just take to a good body shop and let them go nuts. Should be pretty straight forward as long as the paint on the fairing is black. The factory colours are a bitch because there is only one place that makes the paint to match them, Color-Rite. Which needless to say are not the cheapest in world. I had a fairing from an EX500 repaired at a friends and he match the paint good enough that you can't tell where it was painted and where he blended the original in.
