No Spark. Argh!
« on: June 1, 2002, 08:22:30 PM »

Hi,

My 00 F4 race bike, has no spark. I checked the thorttle position sensor, and the measured resistance does not change when closing and opening. So I assume that would mean it does not function properly.

If the throttle position sensor position is not working properly, could that cause the bike not to spark? Race day is fast approaching and I need help! Cry

Thanks, guys

The tps would cause a poor jetting condition, but not kill spark. I'd look at things like the circut for the kick stand saftey switch. Maybe battery terminals. Or the neutral sensor is another good one.

You should check that the tip-over sensor isn't the problem.  If it has come loose or been installed wrong (upside down) it'll stop the spark.
