Chain and sprocket update.
« on: December 12, 2002, 02:24:04 AM »

Well late last week I changed my front sprocket from a 15T to a 14T. (on my F3)  Just a new front sprocket ($21)since the chain was like new and cheaper than 520 conversion.  When chain needs replacing i will consider the conversion.

Really easy to install.  much better that I was expecting.  took about 45 from start to finish.

Feels like quite a bit more torque.  But the best thing so far is that when I used to ride around town I was in the 5k rpm flat spot but now i am up in the 6k range where the pickup is.

thanks for all the help during my research time.

That is good to hear!
I am in the process of going down one on the front and up one on the rear of my 99 F4, with a 520 conversion.

Should be a nice little change in my eyes!

Well my front 15T PBI sprocket came in so now I have both changed.  15T on the front and 46T on the back with a DID XRing chain.  Had to take out something like 7 links though.
