I would say that bikes today are all so close performance wise...get what fits your riding style best. You can have the "best" bike...but if it doesn't fit your riding style, it will not matter.

Man, I feel ya on that. Both bikes are pretty bad machines. I am not sure what I would do in your position to be honest. If you are torn between just those two as far as performance...pick whichever you think looks the best. Also, if you plan on adding aftermarket parts to it...do some comparison shopping to see what will fit your needs there as well Best advice I got on that one. Not worth a whole lot I know. Good luck. Either way, you will have a kick ass bike

I have personally put several thousand miles on an f4, r6, and an f4i. All are outstanding as far as performance although I would give the edge to the r6 and f4i. My biggest problem with the r6 with me being 6'2" tall is that I feel like im riding one of those big wheels we all owned as kids. If you were deprived as a child (jj) and don't know what im refering to, its as if your knees feel like they might hit your chest on a large bump. If height isnt a consideration then I would consider seat comfort for the long hauls. The seat on the r6 seems narrow up from and wide in the rear, so you can find a comfortable portion to rest your bum. The seat on the f4 is mostly narrow and plush and you feel plastic pretty quick. The f4i is middle of the road as far as seating goes. Past that aftermarket parts are what matters. The r6 has a lot out there, but parts for the f4i are starting to show up as well. Best thing I can tell you to do is try to find people that might let you ride theirs or ive seen a few places that rent sportbikes. Hope that helped.

Well if you have the money and the patience for a proper break in then go new. At least then it will be under warranty and you will know its been properly serviced.
