When I am in the top gear and I crack the throttle by all means it isn't a kick in the ass.

It all depends on the RPM range you are in.  If you are in city traffic (60 KM/H, 30 MPH) and you are in 6th, cracking the throttle won't do you much good as it won't be able to generate enough power to move you.

Now on the flip side, if you are on the highway moving at a good pace (200 KM/H, 120 MPH) and you crack it in 6th, I would imagine you should be able to get some more response out of the bike.

It all depends on the situation.  Describe what you are doing and where when this occurs and maybe you will get some better answers.

It sounds like you are just in to high of a gear and gunning it.

How long have you had the bike.

You need to clarify what you mean by nothing. Do you mean you open the throttle and the bike starts to slow down? If you open the throttle and it just doesn't go any faster then it could be a jetting problem. The bike might be starving for fuel. Try to be a little more detailed on when it occurs and what exactly happens.

Try checking your throttle cable - if there is any slack adjust it...it could be your throttle valve doesn't open fully

Might be worth checking your plugs to make sure none are loose, this could cause low compression, and cause loss of power at high speed.

Does it do it only when you suddenly open the throttle or does it act the same way if you roll the throttle to wide open?

Have you put a fresh tank of gas in the tank?
Check the plugs.
Check the throttle cable.
Check the air filter.
Did the bike sit for more than a few weeks before you bought it?

10 Sec.......... That would be a lifetime on a bike.

You need to get your bike checked out. It could have sat for a extended period and needs a tune up?

Also check everything else that was said.

The 5k dead spot is something known with the f4. However the term "dead spot" is not accurate though. It just means the power drops off rapidly and then returns in a few more rpms. I would call it more of a sluggish spot. I put a jet kit in and now works like a charm.
