Had to replace the last battery after only one year, it would not keep a charge despite being on a battery tender for the winter here in PA.
Well, the brand spankin' new battery went dead after the bike sat idle for a week. Fortunately, it still takes a charge.
There is a 50ohm resistance across the battery terminals with the battery out. Removal of fuses did not indicate a short anywhere. Regulator was removed and 50ohms went away. Reinstalled regulator and reversed meter probes, 50ohms still did not register. Is the 50ohms across the regulator normal or do I have a high reading and need to replace the regulator? Or, do I need to check something completely different?
Any and all help is appreciated as the riding season here in Erie, PA is coming to a close.

I had a similiar prob, i dont know if this will be helpful but i bought a new battery and then it just died again and again, so i took it to the shop and bought a brand new honda battery cuz the ones from auto stores are crap, or short term. I knew that wasnt gonna fix the prob and the technician told me that there is now way to test the rectifier regulator but everything else was working fine so he suggested i start with that and i did, it only cost about 90 dollars for the part and you can put it in your self cuz it's like two bolts and a hookup rather then paying labor but anyway i havent had any of the same problems again yet, knock on wood, good luck.
