Buku miles on a 99.  Rattles and rattles.  Doesnt affect my cornering speed...  Do not get a manual CCT.  Unlike the auto CCT, if you dont adjust the manual one when necessary, you are suckin.

It's a super easy job. Two bolts. But, replacing it with the sames one won't last long. There are manual ones, I don;t have a link, do a search. A manual CCT will stay quiet. But heres the scoop. There was nothing wrong with the one you replaced. The rattle sounds like ass, but it doesn't hurt anything. Mine rattled for 2 years with no ill effect. In the shop environment, I've never, even seen even one fail. They rattle, but never do any damage. Buy a manual one, if the noise really bothers you.

Why would it affect your cornering speed?

when my cct played up, it was a light rattle at about 4-5k.  The bike was out of warranty, but Honda payed the labour.  Parts were around £50 and it took them an hour or so in the workshop - they probably included tea-breaks in that.  It still rattles sometimes, but now I ignore it and it goes away.  Does seem worse when an oil change is due.
